Okay so I've been making some decopage frames and candles and stuff and I can't find a good sealer. Everything I've used is too strong and ends up ruining my pieces... cause I guess the paper I used was too thin and the resin sealer I have basically disolved the paper... Does anybody have anything they can recommend?

Re: a good decopage sealer
Mon, November 29, 2004 - 4:30 PMhave you tried getting old fashioned and thinning glue with water? maybe if you could get a coat or two onto the paper, then you could seal over the top with resin? -

Wed, August 10, 2005 - 8:13 PMI know this is an old "thread" but I recently joined tribe... Anyway, what resin have you had success with? I use the thin glue/water combo for decopaging but don't know what to use to seal it. -

Re: a good decopage sealer
Wed, August 10, 2005 - 10:14 PMThanks. Maybe I'll look for it this weekend - I always find time to wander the craft stores.
I recently took the colorful insides of envelopes (that had bills in them) and decopaged them onto a box. When I went to add a second coat, it smeared. I'll have to try this again with a sealer. -

Re: a good decopage sealer
Fri, November 11, 2005 - 6:18 PMi found two large bottles of mucilage, (the old school amber coloured glue) at a thrift store and it's great for decoupage. just brush on to glue and to seal.
