I am trying to decopage scrapbook paper onto a wood frame. I have printed a name on the paper first. When I try to adhear it the ink smears. Does anyone have an idea of a medium I can use to not have this happen?

What kind of decoupage medium are you using? Could you buy a sheet of paper letters or stickers to use instead of ink? You could also just glue the name on after you decoupage. Is the name printed all over the paper? You may just have to glue it on one side then. Hope that helps.

what if you painted over the letters with clear nail polish(or any similar medium) to seal them, and then decoupaged as usual?

I've had that happen when I used water based inks. You need something more permanent and non-soluble (paint markers tend to work well, they're not going anywhere). It also helps to test it by using the ink on something unimportant and seeing if it smears after it dries. :)

Decoupage rocks, I have some trunks that I did up almost a decade ago that still look amazing. :)
